Hi, ..I've got an hole in my wintendo knowledge, I thought Microsoft started to embrace etc tcp/ip for networking around wintendo98 time and I see most of you guys wail for help figuring out ipcop protecting wintendos. ..down the street I have a bicycle shop that "had" to upgrade to WintendoXP because Nice Try is "no longer" supported. This guy ran his own written database apps back from the DOS days for his business. ..since Nice Try actually worked for him, he evaded the 2000 etc, all until now. So, after initially losing this business to XP, I found him "protecting" his new shiny Wintendo XP Lan with a Wintendo98 and Wingate, and ofcourse suggested ipcop. ..and, on "my" ipcop-1.3.0-f5, dns, ping, traceroute and everything works just fine from the 2 wintendos I tried, a 98 and an XP, except for the one "wee" thing; these wintendos refuse to surf the web thru ipcop. ..now, the windroid who set up his lan, poured on _all_ protocols, I tried switching off and on dhcp, as the lan has its own, and I'm ok'ed to rip out anything I like, as long as everything works. ..to run a wintendo lan behind an ipcop, we of course need tcp/ip, udp/ip, icmp/ip, what else? ..and, what are these known as in wintendoese? -- ..med vennlig hilsen = with Kind Regards from Arnt... ;-) ...with a number of polar bear hunters in his ancestry...
