Category: configuration Group: 3.0.x >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Mathias Homann (lemmy) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Is there a way to bypass privoxy completely for a given url? Initial Comment: Is there a way to tell privoxy not to touch content from a given url at all? for example, privoxy breaks map24 so that the maps don't work anymore, so I would want to put something in my privoxy config that makes it pass-through anything from *.*.map24.com without changing anything in it... can that be done? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mathias Homann (lemmy) Date: 2007-01-17 11:40 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=27373 Originator: YES i've put {fragile} .map24.com in my user config, and now map24 works behind privoxy... thanks a lot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Adam Piggott (proactivesvcs) Date: 2007-01-17 11:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1611181 Originator: NO maps24.com works for me with Privoxy, but it was using the UK site, it's possible it has different content. Are you using the latest version of Privoxy? If not you should try it out. You can have Privoxy leave the site along by adding it as a fragile site in your user.actions file: {+fragile} .maps24.com This will stop Privoxy from doing any filtering on any URL in the maps24.com domain. This should acheive what you want, but if you want to avoid even this: In Internet Explorer: Tools->Options->Connections->LAN Settings->Advanced->Add maps24.com to the Exceptions list. In Firefox: Tools->Options->General->Connnection settings->Add .maps24.com to the "No proxy for" list. Rather than do any of this it's best if we find out why it's not working! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2007-01-17 10:12 Message: Logged In: NO The first choice is usually to test which actions apply to your givin url, and then add specific exceptions only where needed to make the site work. Usually you want to add those changes to the "user actions" file. If you want to have your url completely untouched, you can use the "trust list" to whitelist specific urls. privoxy will still be used as a middleman, but will be completely transparant and none of the filters will apply. If you want to bypass privoxy entirely, you'll have to use some browser configuration. I don't think IE has the ability to bypass a proxy based on url, but firefox should have a config (or plugin) to do something like that. That can be useful for instance, if you use tor, and want to bypass tor for some urls. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=1637523&group_id=11118 |
