Category: blocking Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: 404 errors Initial Comment: v3.0.6 for Win SP2 using opera 9.1 firewall - zonealarm in conjunction with TOR Problematic URLs: www.download.com (searching) en.wikipedia.org email: gai...@gm... I get a 404 error for some sites and don't totally understand why. I tried making a trust file (which worked) but then figured out that it excludes *everything* (except what is in the file) which is not what i wanted. I guess if there was a way (doable for newbies) to just have a list of domains that privoxy would skip that would be sufficent. Cheers -Gaiko ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-12-23 15:16 Message: Logged In: NO Do you want to bypass privoxy for some sites? If so, you can tell Opera to do this from "Tools...Preferences...Advanced...Proxy Servers" and enter the sites for which you want to bypass privoxy in the "Do not use proxy for the addresses below" field. Don't forget to tick the box to active the list. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: gaiko (gaiko) Date: 2006-12-23 13:56 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1675664 Originator: NO Hi, I saw the follow up but it doesn't quite answer my question. The followup mentioned firefox and IE and that one will only get 404s. I mentioned i am using Opera 9.1, and i don't always get 404s, only on some pages (which i listed). The "canned response" from fabiankeil seemed to insinuate that i needed to give more information, i am not sure what else you need but just mention it and i'll give it! Please check the following list and add any missing information that is applicable to your problem in a new comment to this item: * the exact Privoxy version (if you got the source from CVS, please also give the date;) * if you aren't using an official build that was released by the Privoxy Team, you should mention that as well. * whether or not you are using Privoxy's default configuration (for example if you changed the configuration to chain Privoxy with Tor) * the operating system and version that you run Privoxy on * the name, version and platform of the browser you were using when the problem occurred * The URL of the page on which you encountered the problem * the exact steps that are necessary to reproduce the problem. (If it's not reliably reproducible: any other information that might be helpful to identify the source of the problem, like log or config file excerpts) * IF EVER POSSIBLE, USE YOUR SF LOGIN OR SUPPLY AN EMAIL ADDRESS, SO THAT WE CAN REACH YOU. (Spam-safe like "user AT domain" if you like) Thanks in advance! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-12-23 10:08 Message: Logged In: NO 3.06 does not work with Firefox 2.0 or Internet 7.0. Privoxy 3.03 works with both. All you get is 404s with either browser. I have installed/uninstalled 3.03 and 3.06 many times. Sames result 3.03 works, 3.06 doesn't work with TOR. All you get is 404 messages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=1620863&group_id=11118 |
