Category: other Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: web bugs and trojans Initial Comment: I am a domestic violence victim. My abuser has repeatedly infected my computer with trojans. Does using TOR and Privoxy preclude web bugs and trojans from infecting my computer when I go to web sites? If not, then the web bug or trojan can read my IP address and my word files the next time I log onto the internet. This would foil privacy. How to prevent web bugs from infecting my computer? The anti trojan programs I use seem to only be able to detect and remove them after they infect my computer. They don't prevent the infection. They don't prevent my abuser from ascertaining my IP address the next time I log on. An other website had a link to show what a website can read. It stated: "your internal ip address if you use a proxy." If this is true, using proxies would not provide privacy. Can websites read through a proxy to the user's real ip address? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=1414005&group_id=11118 |
