Maybe the browser is closing off the body tag? Try using a program like wget to retrieve the page. From the snippets of conversation I cannot really figure out what your filter is trying to do. Why are you trying to embed an img tag inside a body tag? That certainly isnt valid html. BTW, I just ran a test and it "works for me(tm)".
