I just replaced the description with a more detailed one: http://ijbswa.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/ijbswa/current/configure.in?r1=1.139&r2=1.140&view=patch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2009-11-06 06:53 Message: Good to know. The description (in configure.in) only says it allows more patterns, and while I'm not surprised it's a bit stricter about the syntax, it doesn't give any indication that valid patterns may be parsed differently. A note or warning to that effect would be useful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Date: 2009-11-05 14:52 Message: Thanks for the report. That's the expected behavior. If you compile with --enable-extended-host-patterns, the host patterns have to be PCRE-compliant and the ones in the error messages aren't. To automatically convert Privoxy's traditional host patterns into PCRE patterns, your can use: http://ijbswa.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/*checkout*/ijbswa/current/tools/url-pattern-translator.pl which also comes with the source tarball. Note that just removing the patterns Privoxy detects as invalid isn't good enough, as most patterns are valid in both systems, but the meaning is different. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=460288&aid=2892308&group_id=11118 |
