Category: blocking Group: None Status: Pending Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: N1cks (n1cks) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Can you specify Privoxy to 'not filter' a website? Initial Comment: Basically there are a couple of URL I visit that don't work properly with Privoxy (or any add-blocker for that matter). The problem is the videos don't work when the adds are blocked (www.3news.co.nz and bbc.co.uk). Instead of figuring out what the problem is, is there a way to specify Privoxy to not filter the websites i.e. apply no actions.. or anything ??? I've had a decent look in the manual and online config, but I can't find an answer. Thanks for any help you can offer. Cheers, N1cks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Hal Burgiss (hal9) Date: 2008-09-25 06:19 Message: If you don't want any of Privoxy's features, then the best/easiest solution is to tell the browser to not proxy those sites. All browsers I've used have such a feature. The issue is that the browser controls which sites are proxied. Once the stream is fed to privoxy, privoxy has to deal with it. You could alternately turn off all Privoxy's actions for certain sites, but you'd have a proxy that does not nothing except proxy. The actions are all listed in the main config file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-09-24 06:53 Message: Hi Hal9, Thx for your reply. I've tried entering the following in the User Actions: { -filter } 3news.co.nz ... but everything is still blocked (all the adds etc). What am I doing wrong? Basically I want privoxy to apply no actions to certain websites so all their features work. For example: http://www.3news.co.nz/Video/tabid/534/Default.aspx ^ the videos for this website doesn't work when privoxy is turned on. Thx again. Cheers, N1cks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hal Burgiss (hal9) Date: 2008-09-24 06:15 Message: If you mean for Privoxy not to use any 'filter' action on the site, then that is invoked as { -fitler } .example.com If you mean for Privoxy not to touch the site at all, you have to do that in your browser config. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=2125798&group_id=11118 |
