Never used Privoxy before. Tried to down load Version 3.0.2-1 from Website. I get the following four lines of information: Jul 27 14:45:39 Privoxy(-394629) Info: loading configuration file 'config.txt': Jul 27 14:45:39 Privoxy(-394629) Info: Privoxy version 3.0.2 Jul 27 14:45:39 Privoxy(-394629) Info: Program name: C:\PROGRAM FILES\PRIVOXY\PRIVOXY.EXE Jul 27 14:45:39 Privoxy(-394629) Info: Listening on port 8118 for local connections only And then I get the following error message: Jul 27 15:04:42 Privoxy(-503789) Fatal error: can't bind to 127.0.0.1:8118 because (error number 0) I would like to use Privoxy, but am not a computer expert. Can you please tell me what is causing this problem and how to fix it? Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: David Schmidt (david__schmidt) Date: 2003-07-28 08:56 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=249980 It sounds like Privoxy was running along fine, and then you tried to start it again. You can see the process IDs in perenthesis: Privoxy(-394629) starts and is ready to go. Then, a new copy tries to start up: Privoxy(-503789). I think it was (and still is) working fine on your box - you just have to point your browser's proxy configuration to 127.0.0.1, port 8118 and surf to http://p.p to check if it's working or not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=778568&group_id=11118 |
