Hi there, I've loaded my new ifp-5xx flash player with beta firmware and I'm running into serrious stability and corruption problems while uploading files. Obviously, the beta firmware could be causing the grief.. but since I'm using "unsupported" manager software, I thought I'd better check with the community first. [That would be you guys.] So, I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with this combination of firmware, hardware and software? Here's a concreate example: -I plug the device into my USB port and turn it on. -I ask IFP if it can see the device. -If it can't see the device I unplug it and try again. It works. -I upload the local file "1.von_Suppe-Light_Cavalry.ogg" into "/overtures/1.1.von_Suppe-Light_Cavalry.ogg" -The upload appears to work, so I do a directory list: # ifp ls /overtures f 1.1_von_Suppe-Light_Cavalry.ogg (size 6101564) [yup, it worked] -One at a time, I upload more files: "2.Rossini-Barber_of_Seville.ogg", "3.Smetana-Bartered_Bride.ogg", "4.Wagner-The_Flying_Dutchman.ogg", "5.Beethoven-Egmont.ogg", "6.Mozart-Marriage_of_Figaro.ogg", "7.Suppe-Poet_and_Peasant.ogg", "8.Tchaikovsky-1812_Overture.ogg" -They all appear to work, so I check with a directory list: # ifp ls /overtures f 1.1_von_Suppe-Light_Cavalry.ogg (size 6101564) f 1.2.Rossini-Barber_of_Seville.ogg (size 7002764) f 1.3.Smetana-Bartered_Bride.ogg (size 5777642) # [Only three made it] -Confused, I poke around and find a couple of extra files in the root directory: # ifp ls / [snip] f ogg (size 7368191) [snip] f f_Figaro.ogg (size 3899392) f asant.ogg (size 8462457) f Overture.ogg (size 12940171) -Previously uploaded files aren't affected.. I can still play them. On a [hopefully] unrelated note, it was shipped a European (?) power adaptor.. even though I bought it from a North American dealer. Does that seem strange to anyone else? Anyways, looking forward to your comments.. and thanks in advance for sharing them, Geoff |
