first of all, thank you again for your useful answer.

(I noticed I forgot to send my previous answer to the list, so now you

Unfortunately it is also pretty much like my own workflow when I am 
using Graphics Magick… maybe the project website could be usefully 
expanded with a cookbook, where user can use their own recepts?  It 
could be very useful here to look information by option (like -density 
or -page here).
