Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nico (nico18) Assigned to: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Summary: Cannot copy photos from Kodak DX4530 using gphoto2 Initial Comment: When trying to copy the photos from a Kodak DX4530 using gphoto2-2.3.1 linked to libgphoto2-2.3.1, I get the following error message: An error occurred in the io-library ('Unspecified error'): Could not query kernel driver of device. My command line was: gphoto2 -P This used to work with older versions of libgphoto2 and gphoto2, but I am not sure which ones. A debugging log file is attached. I assume, the category for this item should be “libgphoto2”, but as I am unsure, I am leaving it as “None” for now. If this needs more debugging on my side, please tell me how I can help. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2007-06-30 08:34 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 Originator: NO The trace was fine and there is not much more you can do right now. The camera just hangs while retrieving the objectinfo for the object 0x00000a50. This can be a special object which would explain the hang, or a movie or similar, very difficult to say :( I have no idea how to fix or to debug this further right now :( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nico (nico18) Date: 2007-06-27 15:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1146022 Originator: YES As I do not understand the issue and your response completely, I am unsure what to do now. How can I help with fixing the problem? Do you expect me to perform more tests with patches applied? Or to create some more debugging output and attach it to this bug report? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2007-06-18 14:46 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 Originator: NO it has different content ;) the objectid 0x000005a0 retrieval seems to confuse the camera, it does not answer it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nico (nico18) Date: 2007-06-18 14:34 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1146022 Originator: YES There was no transfer before it, I plugged the cable from the camera into the USB port and switched the camera on. I retried it with SVN revision 10388 and the following command line: env LANG=C /home/nico/software/gphoto2/bin/gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=my-logfile.txt -P Again, the camera was freshly plugged in and switched on. The debug log file is attached. Would you like me to send a debug log for multiple transfers in a row? File Added: my-logfile.txt-r10388 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2007-06-17 19:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 Originator: NO a debuglog of the transfer before this would be helpful. I have added code to SVN to make it work better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=1737681&group_id=8874 |
