I just grabbed current libgphoto2 CVS and found that it supports the Canon 350D, which I appreciate since I recently bought one. I have a 1G compact flash card in it (SanDisk Ultra II), which has about 430MB on it. The USB port I connect the camera to has an EHCI controller and the kernel sees it as a high-speed USB device. This is on a G5 powermac running a 2.6.12-rc2 linux kernel. With current CVS, gphoto2 sees the camera correctly and is able to download stuff from it. However, there is one problem: any gphoto2 command that I execute that does anything with any file sits there for about 10 - 15 seconds with the message "Initializing camera" and a progress bar. Why does this take so long? Is there any way to speed it up? Thanks, Paul. |
