Unfortunately, i'm missing the support for a new canon
model:

I know, you folks have a lot stuff to do, not only
adding some weird new products. But perhaps, some new
lines in gphoto/libgphoto2/camlibs/canon/canon.[ch] are
enough.
The camera should be discribed by

{"Canon:Digital IXUS 40", CANON_PS_IXUS40,  0x04A9,
0x30bf, CAP_SUP, SL_MOVIE_LARGE, SL_THUMB, SL_PICTURE,
NULL},

Please, let me know, whether there is a chance for
getting support on this camera-type. IMO a lot of
people will buy it and need a driver ;-)

Sorry, I have tried it tonight with a self-patched
debian-package:

The camera (IXUS 40) does **not** supply the normal mode.
At least, I couldn't get a connection with normal mode :-(

But the camera works  (in german ;-) on PTP-mode:

Therefore, the new lines in canon.[ch] are probably wrong. 
Instead, the camera should be configured in
camlibs/ptp2/library.c with     {"Canon:Digital IXUS 40 (PTP
mode)", 0x04a9, 0x30bf}

Perhaps, there is more work to do, because with this
configuration, it's possible to download and delete files
(pictures, avi-movies), but there seems yet no support for
EXIF-data and such extra-stuff.
Should I try to configure something else?
