Feature Requests item #1061752, was opened at 2004-11-07 04:19 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by trassmann You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=358874&aid=1061752&group_id=8874 Category: camera support Group: None Status: Open Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Submitted By: Thomas Rassmann (trassmann) Assigned to: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Summary: Canon Digital IXUS 40 missing Initial Comment: Hello Unfortunately, i'm missing the support for a new canon model: Canon Digital Ixus 40 usbview told: Canon Digital Camera Manufacturer: Canon Inc. Speed: 12Mb/s (full) USB Version: 1.10 Device Class: 00(>ifc ) Device Subclass: 00 Device Protocol: 00 Maximum Default Endpoint Size: 8 Number of Configurations: 1 Vendor Id: 04a9 Product Id: 30bf Revision Number: 0.01 I know, you folks have a lot stuff to do, not only adding some weird new products. But perhaps, some new lines in gphoto/libgphoto2/camlibs/canon/canon.[ch] are enough. The camera should be discribed by {"Canon:Digital IXUS 40", CANON_PS_IXUS40, 0x04A9, 0x30bf, CAP_SUP, SL_MOVIE_LARGE, SL_THUMB, SL_PICTURE, NULL}, Please, let me know, whether there is a chance for getting support on this camera-type. IMO a lot of people will buy it and need a driver ;-) Greetings, Tom ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Thomas Rassmann (trassmann) Date: 2004-11-09 02:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=954092 Hey Marcus, Sorry, I have tried it tonight with a self-patched debian-package: The camera (IXUS 40) does **not** supply the normal mode. At least, I couldn't get a connection with normal mode :-( But the camera works (in german ;-) on PTP-mode: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- rat@pasing:~$ gphoto2 --auto-detect Modell Port ---------------------------------------------------------- Canon Digital IXUS 40 (PTP mode) usb: rat@pasing:~$ gphoto2 -a Fähigkeiten für Kamera : Canon Digital IXUS 40 (PTP mode) Unterstützung für seriellen Port : Nein USB-Unterstützung : Ja Aufnahme machen (Auswahl) : : Capture not supported by the driver Konfigurationsunterstützung : Ja Unterstützung für Bildlöschung : Ja Unterstützung für Bildvorschau : Ja Unterstützung für Bildhochladen : Ja --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Therefore, the new lines in canon.[ch] are probably wrong. Instead, the camera should be configured in camlibs/ptp2/library.c with {"Canon:Digital IXUS 40 (PTP mode)", 0x04a9, 0x30bf} Perhaps, there is more work to do, because with this configuration, it's possible to download and delete files (pictures, avi-movies), but there seems yet no support for EXIF-data and such extra-stuff. Should I try to configure something else? Again, sorry for the inconvenience, Sincerely Tom ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hubert Figuiere (hfiguiere) Date: 2004-11-08 17:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=27487 marking as fixed but keeping open for the PTP option ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2004-11-08 08:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 applied your patch to cvs. does the camera also work in PTP mode? can you switch it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=358874&aid=1061752&group_id=8874 |
