Here is a link for "TheForce": http://velatron.com/dca/theforce/ I tried it out yesterday, and it seems to work fine. The claim is that 'bulb' control is only possible using the serial (and serial cable) control -- not via USB. Fortunately, I already had the required serial cable for the 'DigiSnap' device that I had purchased many years ago. In any case, this proves to me that -- with a serial cable -- it should be possible for Gphoto2 to even control the 'bulb' feature of Coolpix cameras (also zoom control!). However, this comes at the expense of much slower image downloads, I guess. TheForce also has 'scripting' ability, which could make it quite powerful. Of course, my strong preference would be to use Gphoto2/Linux instead :) I have a pile of Coolpix cameras/lenses/AC-adapters/memory-cards/etc, and would love to make more use of them -- even though my primary photography has moved to DSLRs (which Gphoto2 thankfully supports!).
