Category: camlib/ptp2 Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: David Zeuthen (davidz25) Assigned to: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Summary: segv in ptp2 backend Initial Comment: Hi, I've written a gphoto2 backend for gvfs. While doing that I've tested with a couple of devices and they all work fine. Except for my Sandisk Sansa e250 which causes a SEGV in libgphoto2. I can reproduce this with the gphoto2 command line client. It crashes in the same place.. I'll attach a backtrace as a file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: David Zeuthen (davidz25) Date: 2008-02-29 12:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2023076 Originator: YES Sure. There's a limit of 256000 bytes on this bug tracker so I've put the output log here http://people.freedesktop.org/~david/sandisk-gphoto2-log.txt ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2008-02-29 02:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 Originator: NO Strange. Can you do this with gphoto2 -L --debug --debug-logfile=xx.log and attach xx.log here? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: David Zeuthen (davidz25) Date: 2008-02-29 00:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2023076 Originator: YES The attached patch, libgphoto2-2.4.0-sandisk-sansa-kludge.patch, avoids the SEGV. Of course it means I can't enumerate files in the PLAYLISTS directory. But it's better than nothing... if there's anything I can do to resolve this issue (test a patch etc.) please let me know. Many thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: David Zeuthen (davidz25) Date: 2008-02-29 00:43 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2023076 Originator: YES File Added: libgphoto2-2.4.0-sandisk-sansa-kludge.patch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: David Zeuthen (davidz25) Date: 2008-02-29 00:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2023076 Originator: YES This happens with gphoto2-2.4.0-6.fc9.i386 packages on Fedora Rawhide. I also tried SVN trunk, same issue (and, btw, there was another bug in SVN; all file sizes were reported as 0. But that's a separate bug you would probably find before a release). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: David Zeuthen (davidz25) Date: 2008-02-29 00:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2023076 Originator: YES File Added: gphoto2-segv-backtrace.txt ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=1904443&group_id=8874 |
