Marcus, Having seen Georg's message, I switched my command line around from "-P --debug" to "--debug -P" and guess what? My DC120 started working. This creates the unspecified IO error: gphoto2 --port "serial:/dev/ttyS1" --camera "Kodak DC120" --speed 9600 -P --debug > debug.txt 2>&1 This works: gphoto2 --port "serial:/dev/ttyS1" --camera "Kodak DC120" --speed 9600 --debug -P > debug.txt 2>&1 It is going very slow because I'm in debug @ 9600 baud, but so far it has downloaded 8 thumbnails - so something is working. This is progress. The debug file is getting huge so I'm sending just the first few hundred lines. It is attached if you are interested. thanks, brian On Wed, 2006-11-22 at 16:38 +0900, Georg C. F.
