It's a little inaccurate to say we're using unmaintained older releases on Windows. We're using gtk 2.16, which was the newest until just a couple of months ago. Traditionally we've been more up to date on Windows than most *nix distros (in fact, we're on a newer gtk version than I have in Jaunty at present). All that aside, I think it would be perfectly fine to put this in the repo unless someone else objects. I don't really care where you put it. As it's only useful for windows, somewhere in win32 would be fine. I would suggest maintaining both the 2.16 branch and 2.18 branch. Another option is to simply maintain a patch against either branch. Then we could have a simple script that would download the po, apply the patch, and build it. This may make it more useful for upstream as well as other projects. Finally, have you considered looking on Launchpad to see if you can translate gtk+ there independently of (stagnant) upstream? I believe you can apply to be a translator there. Matthew |
