A cross-platform Bible application for the Linux & Windows communities. Lookup and search Bible texts & commentaries. Xiphos uses the modules & libraries from The SWORD Project (250 Bibles, 30 commentaries; many other books). Formerly known as GnomeSword
This software looks great!
This app is really helpful in understanding God's word. I like especially per verse annotations.
the best truly free bible software you'll find.
This has been my favorite Bible software for the last three or four years. With a couple exceptions it behaves exactly like I would want it to if I had written it. The developers have done a great job.
Excellent work. Well made piece of software.
This is Brainwashing. Projects like this goes against the very essence of Free Software. Religion is the arch enemy of Freedom.
I'm trying to learn Latin as well as study the Bible - this is a great system - I think I like the Linux (Ubuntu) version a bit better than the Win32. : Vos Veritas Liberabit !
I've bought and paid $$$$ for the big name software, but nothing beats Xiphos!
The first program I install on any new computer is a Bible study program, and the Sword community has come through for most computers, from Palm to desktop Windows™, Mac and Linux boxes. The multiple language support is especially appreciated for original language study as well as providing immigrants Bibles in their own languages.
