Are you looking for a way to generate the data for such a map or just
a way of rendering one ?

If the former, I don't think there is anything in the library exactly
for this, although I'd be happy to be corrected by someone else here.
I've hacked my own code for local point density mapping by making use
of the JTS spatial index class STRtree to reduce search time...
