This reader is still development in progress (especially since it depends on
coverageio metadata, which are not yet finalized). It assumes that the NetCDF
file complies with the CF conventions:

However this reader is for rasters, and I had the feeling from your email that
your data are geometries (coast lines, etc.). If this is the case, then this
reader is not suitable for those data.
