[Geotools-devel] Create 2.2 branch and move trunk to 2.3?

I'm right now in process to refactor the J2D-renderer as a GO-1 
implementation (org.opengis.go.* packages, to be implemented in ext/go 
geotools module), but would like to move the trunk to 2.3 development 
before to commit any code. Should we create a 2.2 branch soon? Since 
2.2-RC0 has been released, in theory we should have few differences 
between the trunk as it stand today and 2.2 final.
