sorry folks, I forgot to reply to the list... here's my message. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Ermanno Baschiera <eba...@gm...> Date: 2009/8/19 Subject: Re: [Gallery-translations] problems getting my translation API key to work (G3) To: Andy Staudacher <an...@gm...> Hello Andy, thanks for your answer. I did everything right as you wrote, but I got that error. Anyway tonight I turned on my XAMPP (apache+mysql kit for windows), logged in into gallery and tada! The API key field was filled with the key I tried to input several times before and always getting errors. It magically decided to work! So I successfully submitted my translations. I'm not sure about what happened. It worked by itself and I'm happy anyway. Thanks! -Ermanno 2009/8/19 Andy Staudacher <an...@gm...>: > On Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 8:46 AM, Ermanno Baschiera <eba...@gm...> > wrote: >> >> Hi, >> I got my API key from gallery website, but when I input it into my >> gallery 3 on localhost, it tells me it's not valid. >> Any hint? > > Interesting. Interesting. That's the first report of such an issue with the translation API keys. Please note that you need to copy the full API key to the input form element. The API key should be of the form: 1234:1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef The part before the colon should be your gallery.menalto.com user id (not to be confused with the user name) and the part after it is a hex number. Hi, I got my API key from gallery website, but when I input it into my gallery 3 on localhost, it tells me it's not valid. Any hint? Thanks. -Ermanno Baschiera (italian translator) |

It would be the right thing to do. If we do that, we need to keep an alias from uk to ua in our Downloadable Plugins / Downloadable Language Packs code since existing G2 installations will still know the locale under the wrong name "uk". Maybe there's an easier solution: Say it's a minor core API change, and we'd bump the core API requirement of all plugins at that time, then existing G2 installations wouldn't get any packaged plugins that have the new name for the locale. 3rd party plugin developers would need to remember to bump the core API requirement as well if they release a new package as well. We need to make sure that we're aware of all the consequences before we do that. Not sure if we can consider the change to be low risk enough to be included in G2.3. It might have to wait. Can you please file a bug at https://sf.net/projects/gallery/ -> bugs? Thanks! - Andy On Wed, Jul 23, 2008 at 11:30 AM, Anton Gladky <gla...@gm...> wrote: > Hi all, > > is it possible to change files uk.po to ua.po? > > The problem is that uk is assigned to Ukrainian language, but the official > language code for this language is UA. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's > challenge > Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great > prizes > Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world > http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ > _______________________________________________ > Gallery-translations mailing list > Gal...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/gallery-translations > > |

Hi all, is it possible to change files uk.po to ua.po? The problem is that uk is assigned to Ukrainian language, but the official language code for this language is UA. |

Hi all, The first release candidate for Gallery 2.3 is now available! http://gallery.menalto.com/ Between RC-1 and RC-2 we will only make text changes related to security or bugfix work needed for the 2.3 final release. After 2.3-RC-2 we will do our best to have no more text changes. We appreciate all the work you do. We have 3 languages translated above 99%, and 13 total translated above 90%. This is a major accomplishment! Please help us add to the international appeal of Gallery by updating the translations for your language before the final 2.3 release! Instructions at: http://gallery.menalto.com/localization/gallery2 You can use this mailing list or the translation forums if you need assistance. http://gallery.menalto.com/forum/74 Thanks again, -Bharat |

Sorry, I did not know who should write in English, my writing in this language is not as good in this text used GoogleTraductor ;) "es_AR" use, but when switching to "es" faults remained. The mistakes that I saw are plugins, precisely in "Block Images" lacks emphasis on images and pictures random sample when it says "Random image" where image carries no accent. The same message in Spanish: Utilizo es_AR, pero al cambiar a es_ES las faltas seguían estando. > > Sorry for the inconvenience, i'll answer back in spanish. Saludos. Óscar García Amor G2 Spanish Translator |

Yes, after some more tweaking it does. It appeared that the standard Solaris msgfmt is not compatible with what is expected in the script. You need the GNU version (included in gettext). After I installed that, it seems to work fine. That is: the script now runs fine and msgfmt does not give out any errors. One thing though: please remove the 'clear' statement from the script. I see no need for it and IMHO it is very annoying when a script clear the screen. Hi, The Icelandic translation has just 2 translated strings (0.001% out of total strings). I hope you're still up to translating Gallery 2 into Icelandic. We don't need a complete translation. Having translations for the top 50 strings from install, core and upgrade would be a great. Please let me now about your immediate and long-term plans. If we don't hear anything from you in the next 2 weeks, we will have to remove Icelandic from G2 for now. Thanks, Andy |

Hallo Maarten, thanks for the report. I changed the script in cvs. You can get it from there, or grab it from http://jems.de/archive/1.5.8/ Its in b21 (and later). Please tell me if it works now.
