#1 Memory consumption report for 0.9.0

Daniel Polansky

A small memory consumption report should be created, summed up in a table. The report can be attached to this tracker, as a HTML or OO Writer document; it can also be pasted here as plain text.

Required content of the report:

Section 1: Used methodology

Section 2: Results

The section 2 should contain a table with the following columns:

C1. The size of the tested map.
C2. Yes or No: Whether conversion of XML format has been performed.
C3. The memory footprint of 0.8.0
C4. The memory footprint of the tested version of 0.9.0.
C5. Percentual increase or decrease of 0.9.0.

At least two tests should be performed, one with a 1 MB map, and one with a 10 MB map.

At least one test should deal with the conversion from 0.8.0 format to 0.9.0 format for rich nodes.

I am attaching an example report, created by me during the testing of FreeMind 0.8.0. The report has a format different from the one described in my initial comment here. Importantly, it contains most of the relevant information.

I am attaching a test map that was used for testing of memory consumption of FreeMind 0.8.0, with some 3.5 MB in size. I tried to attach a 10 MB map, but it failed, as the tracker accepts attachments only up to the size of 256 KB.

I have uploaded four testing maps to the shell server. Downloadable from:
