When you create a new node, but don't assign any text
to it, it remains there on the map. It seems like it
would be much more logical for it to disappear if there
wasn't anything assigned to it (ie it's null) and help
keep clutter from filling up.

I've noticed this as well. In the current release, pressing
Escape seems to delete the node automatically, but Enter
does not. I'll look into it, and submit a patch.

How can you create nodes without a text, then?

I would prefer when one could delete nodes by pressing
Delete. That would make it very simple to clean up the map.

In my view, this is a feature request.
