Hi there, FreeMind won't save preferences or display recent files list, no matter how run (i.e. admin or not) I am using Freemind 1.0.1 / Windows 8.1 Pro (running in VMWare VM) / Java V7 Update 67. Thx for any advice!

ha, that dunna work either. at least when i click on Help / Log File Viewer nothing happens. Do you know the file location of such a log? thx again!

OK, it resides in the same location as the preferences, and probably can't be written either. It is c:\Users\<your account>.freemind\log.0. Please start FreeMind.bat and send us the output. TIA, Chris

so sorry, but the bat file won't run either, or it runs but there is no visible indicator of anything happening.

wierd... all the other functions that i need work just fine, ie. import of Mindjet files, creating nice maps, etc.

Any other thoughts? thx!

The dir should be
c:\Users\<you>\.freemind
