Hello, By default FG positions aircrafts on the runway so that rear gears are aligned with the runway edge. This doesn't look realistic for runways that have grass right past the edge. Also long bogeys end up partly on the grass (and there are some computational errors which make friction.nas that I described in the other letter think that bumping is in effect). I think we won't loose much if FG will position planes 5-10 meters into the runway - shouldn't make a difference for takeoff. Also, there's a command-line option to position aircraft at a given parking lot. However only few airports have them, so we loose the fun of taxing and before-the-line checks most of the time, even for airfields that have a taxiway parallel to the runway. Is it possible to add an option to position the plane somewhere in the middle of such taxiway, heading in the direction opposite to takeoff? -- Tomash Brechko |
