<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <meta content="text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1" http-equiv="Content-Type"> </head> <body bgcolor="#ffffff" text="#000000"> Dear freebXML Registry community members,<br> <br> We have just committed changes today that provide the following improvements to Email Notifications of registry events:<br> <br> -Registry now deliver Email Notifications of registry events in form of a formatted HTML page<br> The formatting is done by an XSLT Style sheet that is stored as a repository item in a freshly build minDB or demoDB.<br> <br> -Registry email notifications can now be sent via secure smtp protocol and use various authentication methods.<br> <br> *Acknowledgments*<br> <br> This feature has been a team effort with:<br> <ul> <li>Andrzej Taramina providing the system wide default style sheet at misc/samples/minDB/notificationToHTML.xsl</li> <li>Diego Ballve providing the code to transform the Notification using Andrzej's style sheet</li> <li>Me doing the assembly work</li> <li>Diego doing the patch review and additional testing<br> </li> </ul> *Impact on Existing Deployments*<br> <ul> <li>The minDB now loads the misc/samples/minDB/notificationToHTML.xsl during the loadConfig target.<br> You MUST either rebuild your database (typically using "createDemoDB" ant target), or<br> you MUST run the "loadConfig" ant target to only reload the one file that has changes in this patch.<br> </li> <li>There have been some small changes to build.properties.template which require you to sync your build.properties file in root omar dir to be synced with the latest version of this file. </li> <ul> <li>This file now sets new prop omar.registry.baseurl which is used to set same name prop in conf/omar.properties by build.xml</li> <li>No longer allows setting of omar.url.http and omar.url.soap as these MUST be relative to omar.registry.baseurl</li> </ul> <li>There have been significant changes to conf/omar.properties for this feature. Most of the changes are new properties that allow use ofauthenticated sessions via secure smtp protocol with an smtp server. In a couple of cases existing property names have been changed to make them consistent with the new "*.smtp.*" properties.<br> </li> </ul> <br> Please let us know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.
