It does, in the same fashion as the previous version (i.e. I had a
problem when calling directly the external compiler, but that doesn't
bother me because I always called it separately afterwards anyway

That would be it, yes. I hadn't luck running the compiler afterwards,
even giving it the full path to the --compiler option...
