The first issue (anchor for authorgroup) was fixed in r6195. Questions about proper markup should be directed to the mailing list. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sam Steingold (sds) Date: 2006-08-24 09:55 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=5735 Mike, Bob, you are right that the authorblurb may not be the right place for the information I want to see there. what would you recommend instead? othername? <authorgroup id="authors">&bruno; &stoll; &sds; <othercredit><othername>See <filename role="clisp-cvs">COPYRIGHT</filename> for the list of other contributors.</othername></othercredit></authorgroup> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Michael(tm) Smith (xmldoc) Date: 2006-08-24 01:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=118135 Bob, About the first issue that Sam mentioned, you said you fixed it so the anchor template is called for authorgroup. But I didn't see any checkin yet for that. I think maybe the change is still in your working directory but not checked in yet? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Michael(tm) Smith (xmldoc) Date: 2006-08-24 01:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=118135 Sam, As far as the issue of Authorblurb being dropped, I made a change to add support for it. It's SVN revision 6194. http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/docbook/trunk/xsl/html/ titlepage.xsl?r1=5994&r2=6191 You need to set blurb.on.titlepage.enabled=1 to enable it. But be warned: It's just intended as a temporary workaround and will probably not be supported going forward -- because I agree with Bob that it is by design (not an oversight) that authorblurb output is not displayed on titlepages. I have never seen a titlepage of a book that had any "About the Author" information on it. That stuff is always put somewhere else: - on the back cover of the book - at the end of the book, after the index, usually along with the colophon (for an example, see an O'Reilly book) - at the beginning of the book, after the title page and copyright page, just before or after the acknowledgements (for an example, see the Michael Kay's "XSLT: Programmers Reference" or some other Wrox book) Anyway, I agree that we should displaying the authorblurb output somewhere -- just not on the titlepage. So if this is a priority for you, please raise a new bug, and specify in it where you would prefer the authorblurb output to be displayed. I'll attempt to implement something for this when I find time, but it definitely will be after the next release. --Mike ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Robert Stayton (bobstayton) Date: 2006-08-18 03:44 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=193218 I fixed the first issue, so now the anchor template is called for authorgroup. Regarding the second issue, the problem isn't the simpara, it is the authorblurb itself. In DocBook The Definitive Guide, it says that authorblurb is sometimes suppressed. The intended behavior of the DocBook XSL stylesheets is to suppress authorblurb on title pages. The thinking was that authorblurb would more likely be used elsewhere, such as on a cover, preface, or colophon. If you want authorblurb to appear on the titlepage, you will need to customize the template that matches on othercredit in html/titlepage.xsl to add apply-templates select="authorblurb". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=373747&aid=1484944&group_id=21935 |
