Okay. Since krakens are affected by any damage taken by their tentacles, removing asphyxiation resistance from tentacles should be enough in the case of curare. The same should also apply to eldritch tentacles and their segments. > For floating eyes, I assume them to take air via their surface, just > like amphibians[0] and many invertebrates do. The main question seems to be what kind of poison Mephitic Cloud really is, compared to e.g. Poisonous Cloud. It sounds as though the following changes are needed (leaving out the current discussion on how non-breathing undead are destroyed/dissolved/whatever by deep water): 1. Remove asphyxiation resistance from butterflies, kraken connectors, kraken tentacles, and demons in general. 2. Make insects in general paralyzed but not asphyxiated by curare. 3. Add an unbreathing quality (a single-level non-random mutation for players as previously mentioned, and an M_UNBREATHING flag for monsters). Having this quality implies asphyxiation resistance and Mephitic Cloud immunity, but not poison resistance. 4. Apply the unbreathing quality to grey draconians, undead monsters, plants, and non-living monsters. Actually hardcode it for undead, so that it properly applies to fake undead like Twisted Resurrection abominations and zombie kraken tentacles. 5. Mention grey draconians' ability to walk through water separately. (On an unrelated note, I've noticed that demonspawn and felid monsters are both colored darkgrey; isn't the convention to use darkblue instead, for those terminals with only 8 colors?) |
