Hopefully they will write to the list with their status, so that all of you can choose a part to do. |

I planned to fix them for audacity 1.1 and 1.1.1, but they don't compile for me here (using gentoo). greets T. |

(via cvs)? The .po files that come with version 1.1.2 are old. I did some translating and I don't think I mande that many mistakes. Chris |

Yes, we already have a Slovenian translation by Rok Hecl. We have added a bunch of new strings, though, so in a few weeks when we're getting ready to release version 1.2.0, it would be nice if you could help update it. Also, once we're finished with the 1.2.0 manual, you could translate some or all of that. The website could use some work now, though - I'll send you instructions. - Dominic Klemen Slavic wrote: > Hi! > > I'm a resident of Slovenia and fluent in English - I could help you out with > some translation work, unless you're already covered for Slovene (country code > SI). > > -Klemen > > ____________________ > http://www.email.si/ > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > Enterprise Linux Forum Conference & Expo, June 4-6, 2003, Santa Clara > The only event dedicated to issues related to Linux enterprise solutions > www.enterpriselinuxforum.com > > _______________________________________________ > Audacity-translation mailing list > Aud...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/audacity-translation |

What is the right way to handle translations of the 1.2.0 manual into different languages? There are webbrowser abnd wxhelp directories, but both manuals are stored right inside of them, not e,g. in webbrowser/en/ and wxhelp/en/. So how this problem (if ione exists) could be solved? -- Alexandre Prokoudine ALT Linux Documentation Team JabberID: av...@al... |

We don't expect the manual translations to be constantly updated the way the website and the program are. I want to complete and proofread the English manual for 1.2.0 first, then start having it translated. We may not even check the translations into CVS. If there's interest, we definitely could, but it's not as necessary because at least so far there hasn't been much collaboration on translations - it's more efficient for one person to work on them at a time. - Dominic |

It says: 'some header fields still have the initial default value'. Stupid question (!; I use the Dutch language version of poEdit): What are headers? Where can I find them so I can change them? Where > can I find them so I can change them? > Jack, first of all: thanks for helping out with the Dutch translation! The header is at the beginning of the file you're translating. I've never used po-edit so i don't know what is shows you. It might hide the header for you, and you may have to find it under a special menu-option perhaps. If you use a plain text editor (under windows notepad or something) you can look at the contents of the file and see the header of the file. Anyway, for information on how to translate (in Dutch), have a look at this: http://nl.gnome.org/vertalers_technisch.php There you'll find information on how to translate the header. Further required reading for translators (in Dutch) is: http://nl.gnome.org/vertalers_begin.php If you want more direct help, please go on IRC to the #gnome-nl channel on irc.gimp.org You can ask questions directly, to me or to some of the other translators over there. Good luck, and you can always contact me off-list for more specific questions about translating. regards Tino Meinen |
