>Oh really? YES, really! If there is a bug related to http://sourceforge.net/p/assp/mailman/message/33502973/ it is NOT in IO::Socket::INET6. binding to 0.0.0.0 on linux is an IPv4 bind only. binding to [::] is for both IPv6 and IPv4 - at least on my nice old SLES OES2. This is caused by the system , not by Perl nor by any Perl module. You can check this simple: change (uncommend) both lines - in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config #ListenAddress 0.0.0.0 #ListenAddress [::] and restart the sshd - now check netstat - in my case I see only the following listener at port 22 tcp 0 0 :::22 :::* LISTEN but the sshd accepts connection with IPv4 also. I guess you forgot about my previous thread on this... http://sourceforge.net/p/assp/mailman/message/33502973/ > maillog.txt from an IPv6 enabled system - freeBSD 10.2, The FreeBSD kernel is NOT Linux and they could handle things differently. Its completely different code. Offhand I would say why this bug effects me and not you. Maybe try it on a Linux system and see, I bet you will have the same issue as I did. Which I spent time on this before. You just confirmed the issue is Linux specific and FreeBSD does not have such issue. Thus its how ever IO::Socket::INET6 operates on Linux. > Perl 5.20.2 , assp > 2.4.6 build 15176 > The listeners are defined with port only! > > Jun-26-15 08:02:38 [init] Listening for SMTP connections on 0.0.0.0:25 , > [::]:25 > Jun-26-15 08:02:38 [init] Listening for admin HTTP connections on > 0.0.0.0:55555 , [::]:55555 > Jun-26-15 08:02:38 [init] Listening for stat HTTP connections on > 0.0.0.0:55553 , [::]:55553 > > use the right parameters and Perl syntax for IO::Socket::INET6 - and it > will do what it should do I spent extensive time on this and I tried all formats as you can clearly see here. Which is why I went so far as to write the example in the bug report. Along with the result in ASSP. You tell me which of the formats I tried that should work but did not... I am quite aware I have IPv6 in both production and development. I will soon be deprecating and getting rid of my IPv4 private networks in favor of my IPv6 ULA networks. -- William L.
