Uhm... yes but... let's suppose for a moment that the LDAP server will *always* accept a connection but then, upon receiving a query it will sometimes just get "stuck" and won't return any answer at all (neither a result nor an error); in such a case ASSP would remain "hooked" waiting for something which will never come back; so, in such a case totally disabling LDAP and forcing VRFY may help |
