Maybe there is something simple that I missed, but when I log in, I get only a blank screen and message box. The game allows me to move and updates my position when I type "/where <username>" but I see no graphics.
I am using Ubuntu Intrepid with the OpenJDK runtime. Is there known problems with this configuration?

Yes, only sun java is known to work at the moment. There seems to be some remaining incompatibilities in OpenJDK that affect the stendhal client. Please install sun java, and use that instead.
