Not sure if this is a bug or simply not supported. The attached ribs uses the append mechanism of depth maps to construct a cube depth map for point lights. This works fine in Air as shown in the included test render.
This simply isn't a bug, it's just not supported at the moment. AFAIK appended depth maps were added mainly to support map-based occlusion.
I'm inclined to mark it as a low-priority feature request, but how important is it to you?

I agree it shouldn't be a high priority feature. I does come in very handy as a feature and is very convenient in the shaders (the traditional approach of using 6 different maps is a hand full). One situation I was testing that makes this feature cool was doing particle animation with point lights and using this to apply shadows (which was way too difficult before). Another problem is the shader code for the old technique has been removed so Aqsis will not support point shadows as Air and 3Delight will :-(
