Hi, I have leaved a comment in the issue 5898 VST plugins names are localized : https://github.com/audacity/audacity/issues/5898 It seems that this issue could be closed as this is not an Audacity bug. Message to all translators: we will (try to) delete the "old" and unofficial Transifex page for Audacity. This will happen on 2024-11-01. If you need to download any translation files, now is the time 😉 The old project hasn't been updated in a month, so please use the official project here: https://explore.transifex.com/audacity/audacity/. This is temporary and will only be used like this probably for 3.7 and maybe 3.8 if there is such a release. We're currently very much in the process of wrapping up Audacity 3.x development and focusing all of our efforts on Audacity 4, which uses Musescore's UI system and with it, the string system. MuseScore currently allows for an almost "live" level of translations, with a mere 15 minute caching window to wait out to load something from master into transifex and back into MuseScore - see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/administrative-guidelines/translation-instructions. We'd get pretty much the same system going. > > There's one more string change awaiting before we can announce string freeze for 3.7 - I'll update the POT and notify you all once it's time. Hey folks! As Transifex may have told you, I've uploaded the 3.7 POT (twice, now with one fewer spelling mistakes). Alternatively, the new POT can be found here: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/blob/release-3.7.0/locale/audacity.pot I'll download all translations updated on Transifex on October 22 back into the Audacity source; we're looking to release shortly after. This may be the last call for translations for Audacity 3.x; I hope we'll be back with Audacity 4 sometime next year. As mentioned before, we're hoping to switch to a system which would allow you to see the changes you're making on Transifex in more or less realtime in Audacity, similar to how that's possible in MuseScore Studio. Thank you all for what you do! Best, Leo Wattenberg |

Heya! So, the current contents of that project are just master, manually pulled as of a few days ago. This is temporary and will only be used like this probably for 3.7 and maybe 3.8 if there is such a release. We'd get pretty much the same system going. There's one more string change awaiting before we can announce string freeze for 3.7 - I'll update the POT and notify you all once it's time. I may notify the wider community at that point as well, so we hopefully get a small influx of people here. The old project and repo are (hopefully) not needed anymore. Thank you very much for having them maintained up to now! A couple of questions though. The former Transifex project [1] allowed us to translate the "master" branch of Audacity, so that translators do not have to rush to translate just before a version is published. Those "master" translations were fetched daily from a repository of mine [2], which in turn updates daily the .pot from the master branch of Audacity. Is the "Audacity" resource of the new Transifex project pointing to "master"? If so, is the repository of mine still needed? Otherwise, which strings does it contain? The ones of the next upcoming Transifex version? Best, Michele [1] https://explore.transifex.com/klyok/audacity1 [2] https://github.com/mlocati/audacity-pot |

Hello, I found the translation ja.po file on GitHub locale was copied from Transfelix, and appear to be a little bit older. Please use this file for next release. Has the Audacity translation project of Transfelix been locked for their policy change? Cheers, -- 杉崎 忠久 Tadahisa Sugisaki <tad...@gm...> |

No. But please, but please add to time signature toolbar string & 'and' symbol. Not on translation, but to string. Heya! We got slightly delayed, but 3.6.2 was released today. Did I miss including another translation? If so, I'm very sorry. Hey all! Just a quick note - We're in the process of setting up an official transifex at audacity/audacity. For some reason, transifex requires project names to be unique (even if they happen on a different organization), so we had to rename the unofficial transifex to https://explore.transifex.com/klyok/audacity1/ The plan is to transfer everything over, and to get some automation in place so we can't forget to merge anything - which happened with the pt translation in 3.6... many apologies, Bruno! So, for the time being, *please continue using the unofficial project as per usual*. I'll post an update once the new thing is in place. (Aside, this carryover process may take a little bit. We're currently in the process of transitioning from wxwidgets to Qt by the means of wrapping parts of Audacity in the new UI as-is, which puts us into the unfortunate situation where we both have gettext PO files and Qt TS files in the same project. We'll find some solution for that, I'm sure, in the worst case we'll need to lconvert back and forth a bunch or put dummy strings up or something.) Alright, that's it from me. Thank you all very much for the work you do!! Our 3.6.2 also appears to be on track for a Monday release still, so do keep the translations coming in :) Best, Leo Wattenberg |
