I use so called block buffer and after buffer save (CTRL-S mostly)
it disappears. I can still type, move the cursor etc but it
remains invisible unless I grab the mouse and click in the text area.
This does the same for me on MacOS 9. Also I get this behavior if I Control-F or do anything else that changes the focus from the main edit Window. If you have more than one buffer open, try F11-F12-F11 and the cursor will reappear.

This should no longer be an issue as the upcoming jEdit 2.7pre1 doesn't use the flimsy buffer tabs component any more.
I hope this doesn't mean that we won't be able to have BufferTabs in 2.7! I use
them every day.
