Endeavour to improve your development process

By

Are you tired of seeing the same bad application development practices repeated over and over again where you work? So was developer Ezequiel Cuellar – and he used his programming skills to do something about it. Endeavour Software Project Management lets organizations manage the creation of large-scale enterprise systems in an iterative-incremental and use-case-driven development process.

Cuellar says he was tired of seeing “sharing documentation by e-mail, dealing with outdated or even lost requirement documents, having to adapt to different complex defect tracking tools and project management solutions each time. This was so frustrating that I wanted to create a solution that could incorporate everything in one single place.”

Endeavour is aimed at teams of developers who create large-scale enterprise systems. It can replace expensive and complex hosted project management systems. It’s designed to be easy to use, intuitive, and realistic, in that it eschews unnecessary features that increase complexity.

Cueller began developing Endeavour Software Project Management in 2008. It’s written in Java EE and AJAX, and, Cuellar says, once unzipped it can be up and running in less than a minute. He says deploying it in a production environment requires just a few extra steps.

The developer says future versions of Endeavour will incorporate more reports and general improvements. He thrives on feedback, either via e-mail or via posting to the project forums.
