I had “Use C2 error pointers (drive support is required)” checked (without knowing if my drive supported it, but assuming that XLD would let me know if it didn’t). After unchecking said checkbox and also Setting “Drive Speed Control” to “Limit to 1x” ripping was speedy again. Maybe "%A/%T/%n %t" could become the default file format? My guess is that most people prefer this to saving all files into the top level directory. Apart from the above, I had trouble finding this feature. Actually I was about to post a feature request for using sub folders. Another option could be to have a check box “Create Artist and Album Sub Folders”.
