Win 11 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4946 Veracrypt 1.26.26 Created a 32GB volume, argon2id, no additional keyfiles, PIM, etc. and mounting the volume is almost too fast to start the stopwatch. I'm guess <2 seconds, so very, very fast. It feels almost instant. So just a very anecdotal observation: This volume appears to mounting about twice as fact as when 1.26.24 mounted. On MY machine, I realize there are factors to be considered. I really appreciate the addition of argon2, by the way, and kudos on the...
Thanks for this. I don't know why there's so much confusion as to what to do when you have volumes or containers with now-defunct algorithms, etc. I have answered several questions about this and it seems to me that the general consensus is almost "But..I don't WANT to update my volumes/containers!" Nobody has said that but there definitely seems to be a reluctance to doing what is a very simple operation. "If there is no way to convert...this is very inconvenient." I realize that people have different workflows and what is difficult or easy for one person is not the same difficulty or easiness for another. Here is how most people deal with the "problem" of "converting": 1) Using the newest version of VeraCrypt currently available, make a new container (or remove the encryption from a volume with whatever it's encrypted with), 2) Move the data (or re-encrypt the volume) that was in the old container...

That's a lot of questions and no answers. Does any developer care to inform us whether VeraCrypt is dead or not? For all the talk from users speculating about "It's probably dying due to no interest in anybody donating.", that doesn't sit that well with me because I have indeed made donations to this project several times. In fact, VeraCrypt is the only project I've ever donated to. Those speculating that "Encryption and privacy are dead anyway, who cares about encryption software." is beyond ridiculous....
Hi all, Please excuse the ignorant question and I know it's been answered before but I've recently been reading about the "tremendous benefits" ("Use a long key but by typing a short Windows login password, the TPM will use the rest of the long key to decrypt the drive... automatically!") of a TPM but TrueCrypt and other encryption software (including Veracrypt, I believe) says it's best to disable the TPM because in fact there is no benefit and could possibly be a serious security issue. As a non-cryptographer,...
