I played around a bit with Firefox just now. The mechanism is similar, the main process grows from 122 to 142 MB right after the page loads. But that's much less than Chrome, and it also doesn't do any noticeable cpu-intensive activities once the page loads. When I tested the persistence of those settings, they seemed to stay between restarts. But maybe I was testing it wrong. Either way, on first autotype they get enabled anyway. So that flag is not needed for normal use. I think when I first installed...

The hotfix works. It seems like it tries to communicate with the browser for around 2 seconds, times out, and then performs autotype. Window title matching and manual autotype successful when targeting the Chrome window.

It was just a thought, that if all items in a group are supposed to follow a pattern, then it's better if the pattern is automatically enforced, instead of relying on the user doing a non-standard UI action. Ah. I see. That would require establishing a template group, and then making sure to use that dropdown icon. I always add new entries via the RMB context menu where that's not an option. To ensure that new entries are created consistently and without user error, the template would have to be assigned to my group to be automatically applied. This feature does not exist.

Perform Auto-Type from inside KeePass will type into the last focused window. If the window matches one of the Target Window entries, it will use the sequence for that entry, otherwise it uses the default sequence. The default sequence is always active and is allowed to type into any window. Contrast this with the Auto-Type Hotkey, which will only ever type into matching windows. I have a group of credentials that are only ever typed into a RDP window, and I am looking for a nice way to ensure that...
