I found a page describing which bytes in the files differ (betweem .ICO and .CUR) and managed to load the .CUR files by reading them into memory, changing a few bytes to turn it into .ICO format, and then using FreeImage to load the ICO from memory. I didn't need to worry about masks and so on, just let FreeImage load it as an ICO. For my purposes there's only one image in each CUR, which I guess makes it easier too. Thanks, Rob.
I need to load Windows .CUR cursor files (preferably into FreeImage). Anyone know how to do this? From what I've read the format is almost identical to the .ICO format, which FreeImage already reads, but with a minor change to specify the location of the hot-spot of the cursor. I'd like to be able to access that information too. Win32 doesn't even seem to have any way to access cursor pixels.
