Daniel, Thank you so much for the quick feedback. Our SEB tests on Catalina have also been successful, not ure what issues the school reported the problem had. We do not use downloads, so it could not be that issue. Thank you for the beta link of 2.1.4

I wonder if anyone out there has had issues with SEB in Mac's newest v10.15 (as of Oct. 2019) Catalina release. We have a user claiming issues, we cannot replicate, but I was concerned to find that the latest 2.13 version of SEB for Mac has not been tested on anything past v 10.13 (High Sierra) , according to its release notes. Can SEB claim that they run well on thge latest Mac OS release?

Daniel, Thank you for the quick and informative response. (SEB 2.1.3 and Mac OS 10.14.6 btw) SEB did NOT freeze and thank you for going into detail about what the Mac SEB is setting in the OS. a corrupted plist could defintely be due to a lot of other factors. Thank you for the explanation, and this will be good for us to keep in mind.

After a few years of using SEB, we got our first support issue for the Mac version that seemed to have corrupted a Mac or left one of its services blocked (like the Windows version periodically does) This may be an outlier, but wanted to check if anyone else has seen this: A user had installed it and had to do a hard reboot to get out of it. Afterwards, he could not use Mac's Mission Control window handling service. Only after we reneamed the dock's plist file were we able to get the user back on...

(A year later, but need clarification) Could you outline the steps for creating a public/private key with the goal of encypting the SEB settings file for wide, public deployment ? I realize it may be imperfect, but the goal is an seb settings file a user cannot open in a text editor, for exams on BYOD set ups anywhere in the world. Consider me not very technically skilled. The FAQ you pointed to is a good general description... http://safeexambrowser.org/macosx/mac_usermanual_en.html#NetworkPaneCertificatesSection...
