Didn't knew I could use 7z (while I suspect CRC may not be as safe as SHA-256). It would be good to have an output but it seems that 7z splits "a whole file" not like RAR who knows which file starts/end on which packed file.

No, it wasn't I have finally ran dd manually and it worked, restored to a VM and worked. I think there was something wrong with the parition definition that made it fail. I do not know if this concerns you or not. I believe that it should handle that. There was no hardware issues it was a VM in a good computer. Regards, David.
