#320 Partclone CRC error while restoring with USE partition from image
Hi. I have successfully cloned an old computer with a 120GB drive. It has some FAT32 and NTFS partitions. To restore it and check I have created a 120 (129) GB drive in a VMWare new machine. It failed. Partclone said CRC error. I have tried creating 150GB drive because Clonezilla said to check the partition size.
After many attempts I have told clonezilla to "create proportional partitions" and it worked fine.
I can reproduce the issue. What can be of use for you?

Not sure. CRC error might due to hardware issue, like RAM issue, or maybe due to broken image... Please make sure it's not hardware issue and it can be reproducible on different machine.

No, it wasn't I have finally ran dd manually and it worked, restored to a VM and worked.
I think there was something wrong with the parition definition that made it fail.
I do not know if this concerns you or not. I believe that it should handle that.
There was no hardware issues it was a VM in a good computer.

OK, thanks for your feedback. Your issue depends... VM relies on hardware. If the RAM on host machine is broken, it might also cause issues. Or when you save the image over network, the network switch or the cable has some flaw...
Since you are the only one reporting this, so when this issue is reproducible by someone else, then we will pay attention and try to fix it.
