Dear Caleb, this sounds great! I have questions, but I'll write on GitHub, as it's OT here.

I wouldn't call this a bug (I think the way it displays is intended), but the problem remains: the italic J just looks ugly and a bit out of place and it actually prevents the use of the font in some cases. Just to make an example, I'm writing my PhD thesis with this font and I work with electricity. Unfortunately, the italic J is the symbol for the current density and so I have to use that particular character in formulas and so on (so, it's not a rare occurrence for me).
