Italic J is not consistent with other italic capitals.

I wouldn't call this a bug (I think the way it displays is intended), but the problem remains: the italic J just looks ugly and a bit out of place and it actually prevents the use of the font in some cases. Just to make an example, I'm writing my PhD thesis with this font and I work with electricity. Unfortunately, the italic J is the symbol for the current density and so I have to use that particular character in formulas and so on (so, it's not a rare occurrence for me). The glyph included in the font is just unusable for scientific writing, so for the moment I'm changing that particular character to libertine display (which doesn't have an italic version) and let libreoffice make it oblique. It's not ideal, but better than nothing.
If you really want to keep the italic J the way it is now (it is, after all, your font), could you at least add a glyph to the optional ones containing a normal-looking italic J? That would be a great great help.

Just for the record, I just checked specifically and this issue has been addressed in the Libertinus fonts fork. The stylistic alternate set (+salt) has a less snazy italic J shape that would be suitable where the other one is not.

Dear Caleb, this sounds great! I have questions, but I'll write on GitHub, as it's OT here.
