Solid blocks in xz-files

PeaZip release 8.5.0 under Linux with p7zip 17.04: Same Problem with ZIP(X) --> XZ! ZIPX --> LZMA is OK. Example: GUI: ZIP - Method XZ; Dictionary 8MB View in the console: ... 7z' a -tzip -mm=XZ -mx5 -md=8k -mfb=128 Correctly it should say: ... 7z' a -tzip -mm=XZ -mx5 -md=8m -mfb=128 Only the dictionary size 256k value in the console is OK.

I use the commands over the console. '/home/..../PEAZIP.Qt5/res/7z/7z' a -t7z -m0=Deflate -mmt=2 -mx9 -mpass=3 -ms=16m -mqs=on -sccUTF-8 -bb0 -bse0 -bsp2 and '/home/..../PEAZIP.Qt5/res/7z/7z' a -t7z -m0=Deflate64 -mmt=2 -mx9 -mpass=3 -ms=16m -mqs=on -sccUTF-8 -bb0 -bse0 -bsp2 The advantage over ZIP compression are solid blocks. Here in the example: 16 megabytes (-ms=16m). 7-ZIP Zstandard Edition has a drop-down list for 7z deflate and deflate64. I miss a selection of the 7Z deflate (+64 deflate)...

ZIP: XZ-Compression with PeaZip (Linux + Windows)

I have the same problem with PeaZip in batch processing (Linux + Windows). Individual files (e.g. File.pdf.gz --.gz; .bz2; .xz) do not require a previous TAR file. I use Bandizip (Windows) for compressing multiple gz-files. There are no problems here. In my opinion, it is a bug in PeaZip.

Thank you for this great compression tool for Linux and MS Windows. With PeaZip 8.1.0 (Linux) it's now possible to compress ZIP-Files with Zstandard about the console. An example: »... PEAZIP.Qt5/res/7z/7z' a -tzip -mm=ZSTD -mmt=on -mx13 -sccUTF-8 -mem=AES256 ...« Could you create an entry in the drop-down list for Zip compression method: ZSTD? WinZip from version 24 uses this new compression method Zstd in zip as »zipx«.
