SEB 3.1: Problem with MathJax content in Moodle

I have a Moodle quiz configured as "YES – Configure manually" for SEB. When I try to test-run it as a student, I get the popup message Loading New SEB Settings Not Allowed! – SEB is already running in exam mode and it is not allowed to interrupt this by starting another exam. Finish the exam and quit SEB before starting another exam. The problem is that there should not be another open exam. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install SEB (on macOS). 2. 'set layers' has unwanted side effects
